Our Company

Heartland Medical Specialties, Inc. was founded in 1987 by President and owner Dennis Black. Dennis is a graduate of Baylor University and achieved his Masters degree from North Texas University. Dennis began his medical sales career with US Surgical in 1977. From US Surgical his career path led him into management and VP of Sales with several companies that supplied American Hospital Supply, Burrows, and Baxter Hospital Supply.
	Always wanting to start his own company, he made that jump of faith in 1987 to begin Heartland Medical Specialties, Inc., selling in Kansas and Missouri. Over the years, Heartland Medical Specialties' successful distribution, representation, and territory grew to cover NE, IA, KS, MO, OK, and Texas.
Providing the Health Industry with the best products, people, and service is Dennis' company philosophy. The company's tremendous success has been a result of a great administrative staff and over 25 professional sales associates living in strategic parts of the heartland. Dennis not only loves his role as entrepreneur, but as husband, father, and grandfather. His passion for music, jazz in particular, has made Dennis a local favorite in the Kansas City Jazz scene. He can be heard playing his saxophone professionally in many exciting music venues in the Kansas City area.
